HJA staff conducts and provides consulting geotechnical engineering, engineering geology, geomechanics and construction materials testing and inspection services for geotechnical investigations and geological assessments covering a wide range of public and private projects.

Licensed engineers, engineers-in-training, geologists, and experienced laboratory staff conduct geotechnical studies and geological assessments for a wide range of projects. These projects include:

• Deep excavations
• Retaining wall, rock wall, and slope stability investigations
• Remediation efforts for expansive clay soils
• Geotechnical evaluations for footings, concrete pier and pile foundations
• Foundation construction inspection
• Construction materials testing and inspection
• Phase I Environmental Site Assessments (ESAs)

HJA has a broad resume of over 23,000 completed private and public projects which include a majority of the mid- and high-rise buildings constructed in the Dallas Central and Uptown Business Districts. Our background also includes a resume of completed dam and reservoir water resource projects, primarily in Texas, and several hundred water storage, transmission, and pumping projects.

The breadth of projects includes commercial retail projects, single-family and apartment developments, hospitals and medical facilities, and transportation related studies.
